Billy Davies says keeping Derby County up would be his greatest managerial achievement.
And he said: "I'm not surprised about what is being said about us and I've got nothing against what these people are saying because we are what we are.
"But I want people to judge us at the end of the season and see where we are. We will kick on and do what we did last year - which was to prove one or two people wrong.
"Last season we were 185-1 to get promoted - and we did it. This season is all about consolidation and getting to that magic figure of 42 points.
"Survival would be my biggest achievement. We now have to be patient, hard-working and continue our progress."
