Carlos Cuellar says he's at Rangers for the long haul.

The Spanish defender is regarded as one of Walter Smith's best recent buys and said: "I've heard about the scenario with Boumsong but would like to say I'm not thinking of anything like that.

"Moving to Rangers isn't part of a long-term plan.

"I am just thinking of doing my best every day in training and in games.

"I don't think you can have a plan anyway for your career.

"I never said to myself, 'I will get to Osasuna one day' or 'I'll play abroad'.

"I just worked hard and waited to see where that would take me."
