Coventry owner King angered by Gyokeres: That's not how it works

Coventry City owner Doug King insists they'll have the final say on Viktor Gyokeres' future.

Gyokeres is interesting Sporting CP, along with Premier League clubs Everton and West Ham.

King told BBC Sport: "I don't like things to be decided via the press. That's not the style I think we should have in football. We will handle this. It is not up to Gyökeres to tell the club that 'I am going here'. That's not how it works and that's not how it's going to be in this situation.

"It is early in the window and there is quite a lot of interest. He's made that clear with his comments in the press now, so we'll see how that goes. I feel quite calm about the situation and he is still under contract with Coventry now."

King was reacting to the Swede's comments made last week.

Gyokeres stated: "There are a number of clubs that are interested and Coventry surely wants what it wants. Then you have to take it accordingly and see when the club feels satisfied. But I hope the club can also think about what I want and what I feel for, and not just about who pays the most."
