Hibs boss Collins excited by Fletcher form

Hibs boss John Collins is excited with the early season form of striker Steven Fletcher.

He said: "Steven has been in sparkling form, not just scoring goals, but making them. He has done very well and thoroughly deserves his award. I talked about not starting him in some games or finishing the 90 minutes in others and that has paid off.

"It's a long season and I have to look after both him and the team, I want to keep him performing over ten months."

And, if he can do that, Collins says Fletcher is capable of scoring 20-plus goals this season. He said: "Steven's beginning to look like a centre-forward, he's a bit sharper, quicker and stronger and in addition to scoring he's now also seeing the pass.

"Consistency is the key, doing it week in, week out, month in, month out and I am sure if he keeps working hard he'll get 20 goals without a doubt."
