Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish believes their style of game is hurting their survival chances.
He said: "Wigan, there's a fair chunk of experience in there, and Steve Bruce, to his credit, has got them going well.
"He is able to play a direct style and they are probably much more adept at that type of game than this team.
"That's what's maybe been the difference in these games, the Boltons and Wigans have been a little more streetwise.
"Bolton, possibly, was different as it was three schoolboy errors from us but these are the fine lines it can come down to."
