Carlton Cole was delighted to be back in action for West Ham United in their draw with Swansea City.
Cole was re-signed on a short-term deal by manager Sam Allardyce last month to help cover the loss of Andy Carroll to injury.
"It was really good to be out there again," he said. "I was disappointed we didn't win but you can't ask for much more than a clean sheet.
"You have to give credit to the team for conceding only one goal away from home so far this season.
"I'm really chuffed to get back and to be involved again. The manager has noticed that I was working hard and has given me a new deal. Hopefully, I can push on from here and add to the team and play a significant role.
"The next game is at Burnley and, hopefully, we can score some goals there. Everyone knows I need minutes for match fitness. The Swansea match was a good start on my way to recovery."
