Clement rejects claims Bayern Munich forcing him to play Renato Sanches

Renato Sanches arrived at Swansea this summer expecting to regain his confidence and play regularly after failing to impress during his first season with Bayern Munich.

The Euro 2016 winner has failed so far to impress during his time with the Swans and was substituted at the break during their last two games against Chelsea and Bournemouth.

Swans boss Paul Clement insists he is under no pressure from Bayern to play the Portugal international.

He said: "There's no pressure to play him from Bayern.

"When we brought him here, it was because he needed experience and needed to play regularly.

"But he falls under the same remit as all our players. They will get more opportunities to play if they're performing.

"But there's nothing to say I have to play him. It's all on merit."
