Three senior players from Chelsea's squad spoke very highly of the MLS All-Star team after they beat the Blues 3-2 in Philadelphia on Wednesday night.
John Terry, Frank Lampard and John Obi Mikel all played in the MLS All-Star game in 2006 when Chelsea were beaten 1-0 but they all believe that the 2012 version shows that the game is improving in leaps and bounds in North America.
"I think the sharpness ... and the movement and the quality of them alone," said Terry who scored his side's first goal to make it 1-1 in the first half.
"I've watched the MLS from back home and it's improving year after year, and you can see that in the players as well."
Lampard, who put Chelsea ahead early in the second half said: "I'm quite aware of who I'm playing. [Jay] DeMerit's played in England, [Eddie] Johnson's played in England, Landon Donovan - fantastic player.
"We [were] aware of the quality of the team, and I think MLS teams ... they work very hard for each other. We [weren't] expecting anything less than that."
And midfielder Mikel added: "Definitely, yeah [they have improved].
"They know how to keep the ball a little more. Obviously [David] Beckham, Thierry Henry, those guys being in the team, I think they play some good style. I think they played really well today."
