Chelsea's Drogba wants Hiddink to coach Ivory Coast

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba wants to reunite with former Blues boss Guus Hiddink by asking him to take over as coach of the Ivory Coast national team.

The Dutch tactician confirmed that Drogba personally asked him on behalf of the players to lead the nation in this year's World Cup but said he was unable to make a decision just yet.

"It's true. I have the chance to take charge of Ivory Coast. Didier Drogba has asked me on behalf of the players. The board of the federation want it too," Hiddink said.

"I can't decide right now yet. A lot has happened in the last few weeks.

"I need to solve a few things step by step before I make a decision."

Before making a decision, Hiddink will need the Russian Football Federation to terminate his current contract so he is free to coach elsewhere.
