Chelsea are ready to make a bid in January for Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles.

The Sun says Chelsea are lining up a shock £18million move for Lascelles.

The report claims Conte has set his sights on the 22-year-old as he looks for young homegrown talent to his ageing back line of John Terry, 35, Gary Cahill, 30, and David Luiz, 29.

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez handed Lascelles the captain's armband this season after the departure of fellow centre-half Fabricio Coloccini.
