Chelsea will push through a deal for Yuri Zhirkov on recommendation of manager Guus Hiddink, it has been revealed.

The Daily Star says the Blues stand-in boss has already paved the way for them to pay around £15m for CSKA Moscow winger Zhirkov, 25, who has been a regular in Hiddink's Russian national team.

Stamford Bridge supremo Roman Abramovich rates Hiddink's views extremely highly. ''He's been extremely impressed by Hiddink and is listening intently to everything he has to say," said a source close to the Russian.
