Chelsea keeper Cech: Di Matteo's start 'ideal' but we have to kick on

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech is delighted by the start Roberto Di Matteo has made as manager of the club.

The Blues produced a stunning comeback in the second leg of their Champions League Round of 16 clash with Napoli last night, winning 4-1 on the night to go through to the quarter-finals 5-4 on aggregate.

Di Matteo has started his Stamford Bridge managerial career in fine form with three wins from three matches and Cech has praised the Italian for his positive impact.

"It's an ideal start for coaching and we will all be glad if the series goes on for a long time yet," he told the club's official website.

"You can see that everything happens fast in football. At first, all had looked bad, but now it's back good.

"We beat Birmingham in the FA Cup, Stoke in the league and now we've beaten Napoli. But we need to carry on like this.

"On Sunday, we meet Leicester City in the FA Cup and we need to fight to get into the semi-finals.

"In the following week, we are playing two extremely difficult and extremely important matches in the league. If we succeed in those, they could get us into third spot."
