Burnley boss Sean Dyche was proud of his players in defeat to Liverpool.
Dyche has guided Burnley into the Premier League since arriving as manager in October 2012 and took heart from his side's display against Liverpool, even though Raheem Sterling's 62nd-minute goal gave the visitors victory.
"I think the first half is as well as we've played, considering the opposition, probably since I've been at the club," the Clarets boss said.
"This is Liverpool Football Club and I thought we were, if not totally dominant, very dominant and we were on all levels - the shape of the team, the tactical idea of the team, the passing, the movement, the productivity and keeping the back door shut.
"But the game doesn't last for one half obviously.
"I think it's fair to say we had our pocket pinched with how they got away with a win but we had to do that at Stoke, sometimes that's how it is.
