Bordeaux have joined the battle for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.

Off contract in June, Giroud is considering his options and is a confirmed target for Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas.

And L'Equipe says Bordeaux have just made contact with Giroud's minders.

For the moment, it was a simple enquiry with the Ligue 1 giants testing the water.

Just this week, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri insisted he wanted Giroud to stay next season.
