Bolton Wanderers are interested in Reading midfielder James Harper.

The Mirror says Bolton chief Gary Megson is willing to offer £3.5m for the midfielder, but Reading boss Steve Coppell is holding out for another £1m.

Harper would complete Megson's summer spending and he said: "We've got in Johan Elmander and Fabrice Muamba and we are still trying to do the third deal."
