Pep Guardiola is supremely confident that Bastian Schweinsteiger will be a hit at Manchester United.

The 31-year-old German midfielder joined the Red Devils for £14.4million from Bayern Munich earlier this summer and his former boss suggests he will star in England if he can keep himself fit.

“I am complete convinced that he will do very very well at Manchester United," said Pep.

“He is a top player, unfortunately last two years he had problems with his injuries.

“He was never in good physical condition. When he is in good condition he is a big star and is a really good player.

“I hope that is going to happen [at United]."
