Diego Simeone has indicated that he will not stand in the way of any player who wants to leave Atletico Madrid.

With news that Manchester United are preparing a world-record offer for Antoine Griezmann, Simeone told AS that he is not surprised by the interest and will not look to tie down the Frenchman.

Asked about the United interest, Simeone said: "I don't tie anyone down, I simply keep working to continue getting better for the sake of the club.

"He is in an extraordinary moment, is working well, has gotten back on the scoresheet and his form is good. It is normal that the best teams in the world want him.

“I am not surprised that the teams who are looking are the ones who can afford him."

Griezmann, 25, is being targeted by the Red Devils for a big-money deal in the summer.
