Antonio Conte has resigned as coach of Atalanta.
Atalanta president Alessandro Ruggeri blames the former Bari boss for the split.
There had already been tension and protests before the 2-0 home defeat to Napoli on Wednesday, which saw supporters argue with the Coach on the touchline.
"Conte's rapport with Atalanta and Bergamo ended badly on the pitch and off," slammed President Ruggeri.
"The gestures aimed at the fans should've been avoided, as these people are an important treasure trove for Atalanta."
The patron is siding with his supporters rather than the Coach in this row and is already looking to the future.
"I have a replacement in mind, but we cannot make any more mistakes and want to take time in order to make the right choice for the club and fans."
