Aston Villa have made an offer for West Ham United midfielder Scott Parker.
Chelsea are keen to tie up a loan deal for Parker, which is an option favoured by Hammers co-owner David Sullivan.
Villa are also keen and the Daily Mail says they have tabled a bid which is just £1m short of the England midfielder's asking price.
However, the loan option is favoured by West Ham, who like the idea that the Footballer of the Year will return to Upton Park if Sam Allardyce leads them back to the Barclays Premier League at the first attempt.
