Arsenal's Podolski to miss three weeks with hamstring problem

Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski is out of this weekend's North London derby after sustaining a hamstring injury on Tuesday night.

The German international, who netted a brace in the weekend's 3-1 Premier League win over Fulham, is likely to spend three weeks on the sidelines after succumbing to the problem early in the second half of Tuesday night's Champions League playoff qualifying win over Fenerbahce.

"We paid a heavy price on the injury front because we lost Podolski," manager Arsene Wenger said after the 2-0 victory which gave the Gunners a 5-0 aggregate win.

"Podolski's definitely out for 21 days."

As well as Sunday's clash with Tottenham, Podolski will also miss the September 14 meeting with Sunderland and Germany's World Cup qualifiers against Austria and the Faroe Islands.
