Arsenal are chasing Sporting CP winger Gelson Martins.

The Daily Star says Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is keen on Portugal international Martins.

Sporting value their 22-year-old star, who is under contract until June 2022, at a whopping £53m.

Liverpool are also fans of the winger and will look to rival Arsenal in their pursuit of him.

Martins, who has scored six goals in 24 games this season, came through the ranks at Sporting before making his senior debut in 2015.

Arsenal will have funds at their disposal this month, with Francis Coquelin sold to Valencia and Alexis Sanchez also on his way.
