Anzhi are chasing Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse.

The Sun says Anzhi are planning to hit Toon with a £15.4m bid for the Senegal hitman.

But that will be laughed out of Tyneside by the Premier League outfit, who paid Bundesliga side Freiburg £9m for Cisse 17 months ago.

A source revealed: "Newcastle will sell if the price is right, but the Russians are going to have to come up with a lot more than they are ready to offer at the moment.

"Add on another £10m and they might be prepared to discuss a deal."
