Allardyce happy with Jose Enrique on Newcastle debut

Sam Allardyce was happy with the performance of Jose Enrique on his full Newcastle United debut in Sunday's victory over Everton.

The United boss handed a first Premier League start to Jose Enrique after the Spaniard came through a reserve game six days ago at Man City.

And Allardyce was happy with his new boys.

He told the Evening Chronicle: "It was Jose Enrique's first Premier League start. I was comfortable with him, and I hope he grows with the team.

"We had Claudio back again. He has terrific experience, which is what you need.

"Overall, it was a great performance and three great goals."
