Agent confirms 'interest inside and outside of Europe' for Tottenham star Dembele

Moussa Dembele won't sign a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur before the World Cup, the player's agent has revealed.

The Belgian international's deal will expire in 12 months time and he is expected to leave north London, with offers from China and Italy arriving in recent weeks.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has labelled Dembele a "genuis", but the man himself is said to be frustrated by the physical demands of the Premier League and wants to move on.

Dembele's agent Tom De Mul said: "Mousa has another one year contract with Tottenham. He has played a fantastic season and there is a lot going on around him – there is a lot of interest inside and outside of Europe, we are waiting for the World Cup and I hope he plays in Russia, because he deserves that after such a good season.

"Avoid a difficult last year like [Toby] Alderweireld? For the time being, Mousa does not sign."
