The agent of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho admits he had agreed terms with Manchester City.

Joao Santos revealed the former Napoli playmaker had a deal in place with City, but the champions couldn't settle on a fee.

He told Radio Kiss Kiss: "Jorginho is ready to take responsibility for the Italy midfield.

"At Chelsea he is very well, the team has won four games out of four. It's a great start...

"Going to Chelsea was a unique opportunity, the career of a player is very short, now we hope it goes well.

"Manchester City? It was all done with Jorginho, there was the agreement, but there were no club agreements, all parties had to agree, but one part had not, and then Chelsea asked what the situation was like after (Maurizio) Sarri arrived and Jorginho went to London."
