Bournemouth midfielder David Brooks struck as Wales won 2-0 at Euro qualifying opponents Latvia.
Wales won 2-0 to ease pressure on coach Rob Page with Wales captain Aaron Ramsey opening the scoring.
Cardiff midfielder Ramsey later said, "It wasn't easy to come here, a lot of teams have come here and struggled.
"To come here and win with two goals is fantastic, Brooksy (David Brooks) as well, it's good for us. He's so important for us and it's nice for him to score. We're just happy to have him back."
On his second-half withdrawal, Ramsey added: "It's just a precaution. I didn't want to take any chances but I'll be fine for the weekend."
