Seattle Sounders midfielder Marco Pappa has been named FutbolMLS.com's Latino del Año for 2014.
The 27-year old winger becomes the first Guatemalan to land the award, attracting 68% of the vote to beat a trio of other candidates.
With the highest vote in Latino del Año history, Pappa beat Chivas USA striker Erick Torres (Mexico), LA Galaxy goalkeeper Jaime Penedo (Panama) and Chilean attacking midfielder Pedro Morales (Vancouver Whitecaps) in the final after getting through the group stage, Round of 16, quarter-final phases.
In 29 regular season matches for the Sounders, Pappa scored six goals and five assists as he helped the club win their first-ever MLS Supporters' Shield.
