Newcastle United youngster Harrison Ashby is keen to capitalise on the chances he is getting in preseason.
The January signing scored in a friendly against Rangers on Tuesday, heading a goal in the dying stages of the game for a 2-1 win.
Ashby has yet to play a first team game for the Magpies competitively, but hopes he can earn a squad place with an impressive preseason.
He told NUFC TV: "I see it as a massive learning curve.
“Coming in, learning off someone like Tripps who is arguably the best right-back in the world, so I'm learning as much as I can watching him, training with him and taking every opportunity that I can.
"Coming into pre-season, as long as I keep doing what I'm doing, I think I'll get my opportunities and I'll definitely be able to take them."
