Athletic Bilbao coach Ernesto Valverde was happy with his players in Sunday's mini tournament in Germany.
Los Rojiblancos managed 0-0 stalemate with Borussia Monchengladbach before drawing 1-1 with MSV Duisburg d on Sunday evening.
“We have been training hard for a week and a half," Valverde said at his post-match press conference.
“The team gave a positive performance. Playing is not the same as training, especially against teams that are further into their pre-season. For a first taste of competitive action, I thought we looked good. We were enthusiastic and we pressed well."
Valverde continued: “It's about creating danger, then need that accuracy and precision in the final third. You could see the team were trying to be positive and were trying to play at a high tempo. We have to keep working hard."
