Gianluca Zambrotta has urged AC Milan fans not to panic after a disappointing preseason.

The Italy fullback insisted: "The first few games of the season count little and do not represent the real value of a team.

"We played against teams who are ahead of us in their training schedule, so it was just normal to lose. Fans should not take it too seriously.

"In Milanello we will have time to recover. Last summer we did badly too but then we had Serie A's second best defence and one of the best attacks."
