Pablo Zabaleta has welcomed former Manchester City teammate Samir Nasri to West Ham.

Nasri enjoyed some of the best football of his career under Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini's guidance in City's 2013/14 Premier League title-winning season.

Zabaleta told the Daily Star, “He's ready.

“We know that obviously he will need some game time to build up his fitness level. He's been working with us for a month and a half.

“Of course then in a game it's different, but I hope he can have his chance soon, because he's one of those players who can probably bring some creativity into the team because it seems like some part of the games we need to keep the ball better, the final pass, keep more possession.

“At the moment, especially in the last two games, we've given the ball away so cheaply, so a player with his class of course will bring this."
