New Birmingham City vice-chairman Sammy Yu says manager Alex McLeish has been assured he's safe.

Yu met with McLeish this week as Carsen Yeung's takeover was completed.

"Alex is definitely part of us," Yu told BBC Sport. "We will work together and I hope we will work well.

"He is not an old-fashioned manager. He is willing to learn and works hard at his job. And, if he can do the job, then why not?

"The most important thing is to have an open mind and Alex's mind is open."
