Yaya Toure the hero for Man City says Quinn

Niall Quinn has heaped praise on Yaya Toure following his stellar performance in Manchester City's lucky win over Sevilla on Wednesday night.

The Ivory Coast midfielder was the key as City came from behind to defeat the Spanish side 2-1 in injury time at the Etihad Stadium.

City conceded to Yevhen Konoplyanka on the half-hour mark before Wilfried Bony's effort, after Toure's cut-back, deflected in off Adil Rami six minutes later.

Kevin De Bruyne came up with a winner in the 91st minute which was again created by Toure, who produced a lovely through ball, and prompted praise from Sky Sports analyst Quinn.

"[Sevilla] will be kicking themselves, they were excellent and actually didn't do anything wrong during the game," Quinn said on Soccer Special.

"There were players who didn't play well for City tonight, all over the park there were players who didn't gel, in couples, in threes. Sevilla completely dominated.

"But Yaya was excellent on the ball for Manchester City, the rest of them struggled, it was a nervy night and the fans didn't get going at all. How they've [won] is beyond me.

"Where Manchester City find themselves in the Champions League at this time, Yaya Toure can hurt teams.

"When he plays as cover for the defence you lose so much of what can happen at the other end.

"It was like watching a big, strong kid in the playground, running through players. He can't be as effective playing 40 yards out playing the ball out to the right-back or the left-back."
