Wolves not finding Thelwell replacement until after virus

Wolves have to put their chase for a sporting director on hold because of COVID-19.

The club are seeking a replacement for Kevin Thelwell, who went to work in America with New York Red Bulls after 11 years at the club.

But the Express and Star suggests any search has to wait until after the coronavirus outbreak declines.

The club are deciding on the role they want the next person to hold, which means there is not a fixed list of possible candidates.

The chairman Jeff Shi and others in the senior setup are currently compensating for Thelwell's absence.

It is unclear how much of those responsibilities they would want to relinquish when a new person comes on board.
