Wolves keep pace with Man Utd thanks to tight win over Bournemouth

Wolves have kept pace with their Champions League rivals thanks to a 1-0 victory over Bournemouth on Wednesday.

Unsurprisingly it was the combination of Raul Jimenez and Adama Traore which won the game for Wolves, with the former taking his season goal tally to 15.

The Mexican rose brilliantly in between two Bournemouth defenders to convert Traore's cross with a thumping header.

Nuno's side now stay equal on points with fifth-placed Manchester United, who won 3-0 over Sheffield United.

Speaking after the game, Wolves boss Nuno was proud of his players for the way they have returned to Premier League football.

"It is a tough period - we are in the middle of a pandemic and it's very hard," said Nuno.

"Even now, it's so hard to prepare a team properly because of all the protocols we have to deal with.

"So, I'm really proud of the patience of the players, the dedication and acceptance of all these things - not being able to share a dressing room as a squad.

"I'm very, very proud of that - the patience and the dedication of all the players, achieving the improvement we need.

"And I truly believe this moment of football we see will only get better as we go by for all the teams."
