Craig Dawson could yet leave West Ham in January.

The Sun says the 32-year-old centre-half was a target for Aston Villa but Steven Gerrard found, a cheaper alternative.

Wolves will also take another look at Dawson after missing out.

West Ham wanted £5m plus £2m extras for Dawson — but that will drop now as he is in the final year of his contract.

Dawson made his first appearance of the season on Thursday against FCSB.
