Wolves head coach Julen Lopetegui has lavished praise on new signing Matheus Cunha.

He believes that the Brazilian will be an important player for Wolves during the rest of the season.

Cunha is arriving on an initial loan deal from Atletico Madrid, which can be made permanent for a sizeable fee.

Asked about Cunha, per the club website, Lopetegui stated: “He's going to happen once the market is open [on 1st January], so he's going to be our player. He's not currently working with the team, but he will work when he can.

“With him and with the rest of the players that are going to come here [they will be ready to play in January]. He can only start [training] when the market is open.

“But we have a very important matches and we have to put the focus on the players who are here because they are going to be the main actors in the next matches."
