Former Chelsea defender Wayne Bridge believes that the absence of a leader-like figure in the mould of John Terry is one of the major reasons for the club's struggles this season.
The Chelsea skipper has struggled for form and fitness this season and has made only 10 league appearances for the Blues who find themselves sitting 14th on the Premier League table.
"From the outside it looks like they haven't got that one big leader who is going to lead the team," Bridge told Express Sport.
"They lost Frank Lampard in 2014 and looked to have coped well in his absence last year but John Terry not playing as much this season has been a huge loss to them.
"When he doesn't play you can see they don't have a leader in the team."
