Former Chelsea midfielder Ray Wilkins believes the current team looks uninspiring whenever John Terry is out.
Wilkins has criticised Jose Mourinho's Blues side of lacking any real leadership or presence when captain Terry is injured and not in the XI.
Regarding Chelsea's dismal first few months of the 2015/16 Premier League season, Wilkins told beIN Sports that he feels Mourinho is struggling to get the best out of the players he has it his disposal if there are no leaders around to guide them.
"He keeps faith in what he feels is his best eleven. (Eden) Hazard will always play. If John Terry is fit, he'll always play," Wilkins said.
"I always feel when John Terry doesn't play they almost look rudderless and they don't look as if they've got a leader.
"In the dressing room, sometimes they need to have a pop at each other and they're not doing it, the modern day footballer.
"Whichever job Mourinho has taken, he's taken it thinking he'll get his own way. Maybe the purse strings have been tucked in a little bit.
"The way Mourinho is talking you can see he has identified the players he feels aren't up to scratch and he'll be looking to move them on."
