Liverpool midfielder Cameron Brannagan has seen a loan move to Wigan Athletic fall through.
The Liverpool Echo says Wigan backed out after having second thoughts about committing to Liverpool's demand that Brannagan plays in 75% of their matches this season.
They would have faced the prospect of having to pay a six-figure fee to the Reds if Brannagan didn't get that amount of game time.
Liverpool insist on such clauses in a bid to avoid a scenario where a talented youngster goes out on loan but is sat warming the bench.
