Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez was delighted with goalscoring Callum McManaman after their draw with Tottenham.
McManaman endured criticism after his controversial tackle on Newcastle's Massadio Haidara last month but savoured a special moment on Saturday as he celebrated the fierce drive from the edge of the box that was his first Premier League goal.
"He (McManaman) looked a real threat," Martinez said. "He wins the corner (from which Boyce scored his header), and then obviously the goal that he scores from open play is of a real, real talent.
"I think you saw an incredible lesson of tactical awareness from James McCarthy, James McArthur and Jordi Gomez.
"I asked them to do something very difficult and they mastered it. I couldn't be prouder."
