Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is a target for new Wigan Athletic boss Warren Joyce.

The Sun says he tops Joyce's list for an emergency call at Wigan.

The Latics lost keeper Adam Bogdan for the season due to an injury and Joyce would love his old club Manchester United to help out by sending third-choice Johnstone, 23, to the DW Stadium in January.

A loan deal, with a rental fee, is possible and Joyce's chances are boosted by the fact he worked with the keeper and shares an agent with him.
