West Ham want replacement signed before Scamacca sale

West Ham United want to add a new striker to their squad before letting Gianluca Scamacca leave.

The talented forward, who arrived at the Hammers a year ago from Sassuolo, wants to move to Roma on loan.

While the Italian capital club are eager to do a deal, West Ham want to delay negotiations.

Per the Evening Standard, a deal for Scamacca will only go through if they can sign a replacement.

His teammate Michail Antonio had suggested near the end of last season that Scamacca was not suited to playing under boss David Moyes.

West Ham won the Europa Conference League last term, with Scamacca out injured during the business end of the season.
