West Ham United are aiming to finalise a deal for Southampton skipper James Ward-Prowse.

The Saints captain is set to return to the Premier League months after his side's relegation.

Ward-Prowse, who did start for Southampton in the Championship last week, is excited about the move.

Per The Mail, the two clubs are close to agreeing a fee, with the Hammers increasing their bid.

The latest offer is £27 million plus a further £3 million in performance add-ons for Ward-Prowse.
