West Ham striker Javier Hernandez appreciated the support of Manchester United fans during yesterday's defeat.
The Mexican started for Manuel Pellegrini's side in West Ham's 2-1 defeat in the Premier League and was given a warm reception when he was replaced by Michail Antonio in the 73rd minute.
Hernandez spent five years on United's books having singed from Guadalajara in 2010 and left on a permanent basis in 2015 to sign for Bayer Leverkusen.
"It's difficult to find the words to describe the feeling getting off the pitch today," Hernandez wrote on Instagram. "Manchester United will be always a very special club for me and my family. Coming back to Old Trafford and to having a standing ovation is not easy to digest.
"Thank you to all the Manchester United fans today for doing that. A day I will never forget. Hopefully United can get back winning premier leagues and champions leagues soon for the deserving fans, players and staff. Once again thank you very much and good luck in the future! Love you all!"
