West Ham United are ready to step up their interest in Salomon Rondon, should Newcastle United fail to secure a deal this summer.
Rondon has impressed on loan at Toon this season, and it is believed both parties are keen to make his move from West Bromwich Albion permanent.
However, last summer Magpies owner Mike Ashley refused to trigger the £16m release clause in the striker's contract at West Brom.
And should he do the same again this summer, West Ham will be waiting, according to the Northern Echo.
Everton are another club reportedly interest in the Venezuelan.
