West Ham loanee Kalvin Phillips has revealed he received a peptalk from his former Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa last season.
Bielsa called Phillips after he had been criticised by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola for returning from the World Cup overweight.
Phillips told the Telegraph: "I just felt s***.
"It was probably the lowest point, confidence-wise. Then I spoke with (Marcelo) Bielsa . He called me through a translator and we had a conversation for half an hour.
"He told me that he had watched every game I had been involved in since I left Leeds United and he told me what he believed I should do to become the player I was."
