West Ham United could be closer to adding a central defender to David Moyes' squad.

The Hammers have been given the green light to secure Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah.

The German has been on the club's radar for more than two years.

Tah is being allowed to leave for a reasonable fee this summer.

At 27, he is seen as being at the ideal age to come into the Hammers side and shine in the Premier League.

The tall, fast defender has also played for Hamburger and Fortuna Dusseldorf (loan) during his career.
