West Ham United face being priced out of a deal for World Cup star Miroslav Klose.
The Daily Mail says West Ham have failed in an audacious bid to take Klose to Upton Park.
Although West Ham have been in contact with the German champions, they will lose out now his World Cup displays have alerted clubs across Europe. And Bayern are reconsidering their decision not to ask for a fee.
Klose has already turned down offers from the Middle East and rejected talk of a move to Russian side Rubin Kazan on Tuesday, saying: "I've no intention of joining that club. I'm fine thanks."
There is also the small matter of his wages. Klose is one of the best-paid players in Europe on £140,000 a week and he would have to take a pay cut to join a Premier League club outside the top five.
