West Ham United are not giving up on signing Maxi Gomez from Celta Vigo.
The club were rebuffed in the winter, but are determined to get their man this time around.
While the player has a current release clause of £42 million, it would go down to £22 million if Celta were relegated.
It is a distinct possibility, which means the Hammers could pick up the 22-year-old Uruguayan attacker on the cheap.
He would be signed to replace Andy Carroll, who has struggled for form and fitness this season.
